Kids are little only once:
It seems like from the moment that your child is born, time flies so fast that the next thing you know they are teenagers graduating from High school. I have five kids total with my youngest turning 13 this week. It seems like yesterday each one of them were tiny with their chubby cheeks and dirty diapers. As a family we love to look back at old pictures and videos, and laugh at the memories we made. Actually, we just did that two weekends ago when everyone was in the house. It’s such a joy to reminisce.
Families Expand:
First you get married, then comes the carriage with one and so on and so on. We have quite the blended family with two adoptions. One from Russia and one from Guatemala. We went from a household with two kids to four in a matter of six months with a surprise pregnancy thrown in at the end. It is great to have documented all of those moments during the times of our family additions.
Sometimes we lose a Family member:
Sadly, sometimes someone passes away due to illness, a tragic accident or old age. It’s very important to have memories of our loved ones. Just recently I did a family shoot for a large family whom we were supposed to capture over thanksgiving last year, however due to family scheduling conflicts and the weather, we didn’t get to get it done. Then in the last year they unfortunately lost their dad, grandfather, and husband all due to illness. We were able to schedule and get the shoot done this year, however sadly we missed some of them. Always remember to take those pictures! All of us have a camera in our pocket nowadays so make sure to always capture those memories! Next year may not be there for some.
