Project Beauty
What is Project Beauty?
Project Beauty is a nationwide initiative created by Thomas Nguyen, a senior photographer from Cincinnati. Its purpose is to challenge and redefine the conventional notions of beauty, especially as they are often shaped by social media. As social media becomes an even bigger part of our lives, it has a significant impact on how we view beauty, often promoting an unrealistic and distorted ideal. Teenagers are bombarded daily with images of flawless, filtered perfection, leading to constant comparisons and feelings of inadequacy. The pressure to meet these unattainable beauty standards can seriously affect a young girl's self-esteem and body image.
How it Works:
Project Beauty at Sundberg Photography is open to all school students in grades 8-12. Our next studio photoshoot will take place on Sunday, April 6th, from 9am-12pm. This photoshoot is all about embracing natural beauty—minimal makeup, neutral clothing and a quick 5-minute individual photoshoot. Feel free to bring your friends along and get a few shots together! We ask for a $25 donation fee and in return you will receive a digital download of your favorite image.
100% of the proceeds from this event will be donated to Youth In Need, a wonderful organization in Wentzville, that supports at-risk youth in our community. Youth In Need is dedicated to helping children and families overcome obstacles, build stronger futures, and navigate life's challenges with resilience.

To be seen is to belong. In a world filled with filtered and photoshopped content, showing up as your authentic self is a revolutionary act. It’s powerful when others can see themselves reflected in you. We invite girls from all backgrounds to join this project and help us showcase the diverse beauty in our community.
