What is NYE?
New Year's Eve is one of the largest celebrations around the world as it marks the last day of the year in the Gregorian calendar, December 31, before the New Year. Count down to the New Year no matter where you are in the world!
Our New Year’s Eve Traditions
Do you have big plans for New Year’s Eve? We do, as every year we have a huge party at our house with our kids, friends, family and all their kiddos. This has grown over the years quite a bit. We are blessed to have so many amazing and fun friends! It is always a kid friendly event with the kids getting to toast at midnight with their sparkling juice alongside the adults with champagne. We have games going on for the kids in the game room, some years we’ll set up Rock Band in the family room for adults and kids, laser lights going to the beat of the dance music around the house, shuffle board and or big sized Jenga in the garage, dancing and food in the kitchen, noise makers and champagne at midnight. We also used to set up our photo booth for quite a few years. Some years ago, we would set off fireworks at midnight while we still had plenty of empty, unbuilt lots around us, however we have had the street fill up with houses so to be safe, we don’t do that anymore. We try to make it a lot of fun for everyone and have lots of food.
Why You Should Have Traditions
I believe this gives you the chance to get together and celebrate with loved ones, family and friends in a safe environment. The kids have a blast and talk about the memories made for years. No need to go to the bars and have to get a babysitter, leave them at home and not be together. Having traditions contributes to a sense of comfort and belonging. It brings families together and enables people to reconnect with friends. Our traditions act as a compass for all of our human relationships and personal interactions and the qualitative experiences of our family life.
Let’s Celebrate!
