Why should you give a Christmas gift with actual meaning behind it…?
As the holiday season approaches, we are bombarded by reminders that gifts are how we show affection and care for the people around us. Sometimes though, the most meaningful gifts are things that cannot be purchased or even touched. Creating a memorable moment, like creative non gift items, are definitely some of the most meaningful gifts. Log on to websites such as Groupon or LivingSocial where you can find the latest tickets for a play, purchase a cooking lesson package, or even something fun, crazy and unexpected like a flight lesson. These are things that can be experienced together as well as create a lasting memory.
Some meaningful gifts I have given in the past...
This year we booked a cruise to Jamaica for spring break for the kiddos. We plan on taking them to see where we got married, and to climb Dunn’s River Falls as we did 20 years ago. We’re hoping that it will be a great experience for them and build memories that will last them a lifetime. Since our kids have everything they could possibly need, this seemed like a great idea! One of my favorite meaningful gifts was a couple years ago to my dad. My brothers and I chipped in for tickets to see Neil Diamond, one of his favorite singers. We gave this gift to him in a unique way by giving him single gift items related to the song names to give him hints. It was such a joy to go to the concert with him and watch him enjoy all the old tunes he loved, and we grew up listening to with him.
