Why is it important to have some fun during your photo session?
In a traditional family photo session, it can be difficult for the parents if the children aren’t having fun. If the children then sense that the parents aren’t exactly thrilled with their behavior, then it can be a bit of a circle and make it even more hard on the kiddos. Having some fun allows them to relax, be more natural and enjoy the current session as well as build a foundation for future family photo sessions. This shouldn’t be a stressful process but a fun one instead.
The experience a photographer offers to the families you work during a photo shoot goes hand-in-hand with what kind of portraits you will get as an end result, and how much fun you can bring out of your subjects! The vibe sets the tone.
What we do to have fun during your photo sessions:
I like to start by meeting my families with an upbeat and playful attitude. I introduce myself, and try to get to know the kiddos a little more before we actually start the session. I try to amp them up with excitement about the photo session. I like to start with easy poses as I get to know the family. From there we move on to the more fun ones. I have them play games, interact with the family, their siblings etc. They don’t have to be looking at the camera at all times, in fact sometimes the ones where they aren’t looking are the best ones. I love to make them laugh as that also provides those fun organic moments.
What do you walk away with from having fun during your photo sessions:
When you provide a natural fun environment with play for families you walk away with the genuine moment, and natural beautiful pictures. I believe these are the best ones. I love to provide my families with those lasting images.
